From the Diary of Khalid Nassour
Nov. 21st, 2016 08:38 amI had that dream again. The one where I'm in Ancient Egypt, flying over the desert, admiring great cities sprawled out across the sand. I don't know why I'm here. I have tests to take ... I have a girlfriend to spend time with, I have ....
There's a distant ringing. I try to find the source of it, but I lose my concentration and fall to the desert floor. There's a sound like locust, and I realize it's coming from all around me. I am surrounded by an army of skeleton soldiers dressed in ancient Egyptian armor, wielding swords and spears. I try to scream but my voice is muffled. It sounds metallic.
The soldiers encroach, and my teeth chatter. Somehow, something seems to take over my body, and I gesticulate wildly, waving my arms. I realize I'm signing some sort of symbol. And then, the soldiers are on fire. I see them crumble to dust when I realize the buzzing's not gone ... it's the alarm clock. I'm awake. I need to get to class.
It was just a dream. But why do I feel like something's calling me?
